Why Your Website Gets Traffic But No Enquiries
Analytics shows visitors but the phone does not ring. The five most common conversion killers on business websites and the fixes, in the order that pays back fastest.
If your analytics shows steady traffic and your inbox stays empty, the problem is almost never traffic. It is what happens after the visitor arrives.
The five usual suspects
1. No obvious next step
Every page should answer "what should I do next?" with one clear action. If a visitor has to hunt for your phone number, they will leave.
2. Contact details buried
Put a clickable phone number in the header on mobile, and a short form above the fold on your key service pages.
3. Forms that ask for too much
Name, phone, and one line about the requirement. Every extra field costs you enquiries. Add fields later in the sales process, not at first contact.
4. No proof
Indian buyers look for evidence: client logos, project counts, years in business, reviews, photos of real work. Place them near your call to action.
5. Slow mobile pages
A three-second delay on mobile can halve your conversions. Check your Core Web Vitals before spending another rupee on ads.
A one-week fix plan
- Day 1: add a tap-to-call number to the header.
- Day 2: cut your contact form to three fields.
- Day 3: add three trust signals near each CTA.
- Day 4: test the whole journey on a phone on mobile data.
- Day 5: set up goal tracking so you know which page produced the enquiry.
